PRIVATE TRANSPORT · A ROUTE THAT FITS

Hire a private driver
in Sri Lanka.

Travelling with your own car and driver lets you connect the places on your list without arranging a new transfer every day. Start with your dates, group and preferred pace; we will check a suitable vehicle and driver before quoting.

What kind of journey
are you planning?

A multi-day hire suits a journey with several overnight stops. A private day drive starts from your accommodation and returns to the agreed drop-off. If you only need to get from the airport to your hotel, ask for a point-to-point transfer quote instead of a daily hire.

Serendib Local is a new business focused on private transport and route planning. We confirm availability for your actual dates. The vehicle options describe the space you can request; they are not a claim that we own a fleet or have a particular model available at all times.

Choose seats and luggage space together

A sedan can be a practical starting point for a solo traveller or couple. Larger parties can request an SUV or minivan. Passenger numbers alone do not determine suitability: tell us the number and size of your bags, any child-seat request and any equipment you need to carry.

  • Private sedan: up to 3 guests; usually 2 medium suitcases. Availability is checked before booking.
  • Roomier SUV: up to 4 guests; space depends on the model. Availability is checked before booking.
  • Private minivan: up to 6 guests; confirm space for your group's bags. Availability is checked before booking.

Understand what the driver hire covers

Our guide rates allow for a vehicle, driver and fuel on the agreed route. The planning allowance is 8 hours and an average of 150 km a day over a multi-day hire. We allow for the driver's meals and accommodation, ordinary tolls and parking in the proposed quote.

Your own hotels, meals, attraction tickets and activities are separate. A driver hire does not automatically include specialist attraction guiding. Extra hours, distance or a changed route must be agreed and priced before being added. Read the driver-cost guide for examples and exclusions.

Leave room between the highlights

Choose the places that matter most, then build sensible overnight stops around them. A map's shortest route is not always the day you want to spend on holiday. Add time for meals, breaks, check-in and the last drive to the airport. Our 5, 7 and 10 day itineraries give you a starting structure to adapt.

Before you accept a quote

  1. Agree the pickup, drop-off and overnight bases.
  2. Confirm the actual vehicle, luggage space and any special requirements.
  3. Check the daily allowance, included costs and any extras.
  4. Read the payment and cancellation conditions before committing.

We confirm the details in writing. Sending an enquiry does not reserve a car or require payment.
